Bro. Walakira Charles serves as the 1st Vice Chairperson of the National Organisation of Trade Unions (NOTU), playing a key leadership role in supporting the Chairman General and strengthening the strategic direction of the Executive Board. He contributes to high-level decision-making, organisational governance, and the coordination of union activities, ensuring that the objectives of NOTU are effectively pursued in line with its constitution and values.

In his role as 1st Vice Chairperson, Bro. Walakira Charles assists in representing NOTU in national and regional engagements, supports affiliate unions, and promotes unity within the labour movement. He is known for his commitment to workers’ rights, constructive dialogue, and collective leadership. Through his work on the Executive Board, he continues to advance NOTU’s mandate of promoting decent work, social justice, and strong trade union representation in Uganda.
