NOTU Delegation Led by the Secretary General at the Burial of Senior Trade Unionist Mzee Joshua Oyuga Okello in Kisumu, Kenya

The National Organisation of Trade Unions (NOTU) delegation, led by the Secretary General, joined family members, trade union leaders, friends, and the wider labor movement in paying their final respects to senior trade unionist Mzee Joshua Oyuga Okello during his burial ceremony held at Songhor Secondary School in Kisumu, Kenya. The event brought together leaders from across the region to honor the life and legacy of a respected labor champion who dedicated many years to advancing workers’ rights and strengthening trade union solidarity. 

Mzee Joshua Oyuga Okello was widely recognized for his unwavering commitment to social justice, fair labor practices, and the empowerment of workers across East Africa. During the ceremony, speakers reflected on his outstanding contribution to the labor movement, his leadership, and the lasting impact he made in promoting dignity and fairness in the workplace. NOTU’s presence demonstrated solidarity and respect for a leader whose service greatly shaped the trade union movement in the region.
