NOTU with support from the International Labour Organization (ILO) under the Better Regional Migration Management (BRMM) programme, is implementing an initiative aimed at strengthening fair recruitment processes and improving Labour Migration governance in Uganda.
Representatives from National Organization of Trade Unions (NOTU), Uganda Association of External Recruitment Agencies (UAERA), Federation of Uganda Employers (FUE),Migrant Labour Training Association (MILTA),Kyeyo Initiative (KI),International Labour Organization (ILO),Representatives from Migrant Workers Associations and the Ministry of Gender, Labour and Social Development (MGLSD) Ministry officials participated in the validation meeting of the core frameworks that will help in the operationalization and implementation the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between NOTU and UAERA for joint coordination.
NOTU Secretary General Bro Richard Bigirwa said joint coordination by stakeholders will bolster Labour Migration governance.
UAERA Executive Director Mr Stuart Oramire said joint efforts will protect migrant workers.
